Field Hockey Shutout by Roanoke

ROANOKE, VA — Roanoke scored once in each half to defeat Frostburg State, 2-0, Saturday afternoon.

Roanoke improved to 4-2 on the season, while the Bobcats, who were shutout for the fourth time this year, fell to 2-5.

Sara Lundgren gave the hosts a 1-0 halftime lead with an unassisted goal with 23:50 remaining in the opening half.

Sirena LaBrake added an insurance goal just 26 seconds into the second half, and Roanoke goalie Jodi Godbout kept the Bobcats off the scoreboard with seven saves.

Frostburg State sophomore Jessica Moore (Bowie, Md./Culpeper (Va.)) made six saves in the loss.

The Bobcats will play their eighth straight road game on Tuesday when they visit Juniata College at 4:30 p.m.
