WINCHESTER, VA — Freshman Samantha Riley (Bethesda-CC/Bethesda, Md.) and junior Kim Smith (Thomas Johnson/Frederick, Md.) each scored a pair of goals, as the Frostburg State field hockey team came back from an early 1-0 deficit to beat host Shenandoah University 5-1 Wednesday afternoon.

Hornet (4-7) freshman Jenn Iuliano put the host team on the scoreboard first as she scored in the 11th minute to take a 1-0 lead.

Riley scored her second goal in the 44th minute off a deflection from sophomore Amanda Griswold (Magruder/Rockville, Md.) to give the Bobcats the lead for good. Smith then scored her first goal of the game in the 53rd minute off another assist from Griswold.

Junior Tawni Buck (Perryville/Port Deposit, Md.) scored her team-leading 16th goal unassisted in the 63rd minute to give FSU (8-9) a 4-1 lead. Smith would add another goal in the final minute to make the final score 5-1.
