Football Among National Statistical Leaders

FROSTBURG, Md. — Frostburg State is among the leaders in this week’s Division III national football statistics.

Out of 228 schools, the Bobcats rank 34th in rushing defense holding opponents to a stingy 87.0 yards per game. FSU also ranks 67th in total defense allowing 303.7 yards per game.

Individually, senior defensive end Kevin Culbert (Purcellville, Va./Loudoun Valley) continues his stellar season ranking first in the country with 5.0 tackles for loss per game and second with 2.0 sacks per contest. His 7.3 solo tackles per game have him ranked 24th.

His six tackles for loss in the season-opener against Apprentice September 10 is tied for first among the single-game high marks this season while his five TFL against Brockport State September 24 have him tied for fourth.

The Bobcats (1-2, 0-2 ACFC) return to action this Saturday when they host Buffalo State at 1:00 pm.
