Football Seeks First-Ever Win Versus Westminster

FROSTBURG, MD - Frostburg State aims for its fourth win in the last five weeks when it hosts former NAIA power Westminster for Senior Day.

Eleven Bobcats will play in their final "home" game of the season Saturday - the game was originally scheduled for Bobcat Stadium at 1:00 pm but is being played at Greenway Avenue Stadium in Cumberland due to unplayable field conditions caused by recent harsh weather (Greenway is artificial turf).

FSU returned to its winning ways last Saturday with a 35-14 win over Ursinus on Homecoming. Junior Grant Burrough threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns — both to senior Tim Wilkins — and sophomore Curan Oatts recorded a career-high two interceptions, returning the second 44 yards for his first career touchdown, to spark the victory. The Bobcats led, 14-7, at halftime before exploding for 21 third-quarter points.

Burrough, who earned his second straight ACFC Offensive Player of the Week honor for his performance, now has a school-record 17 touchdown passes this season, surpassing the former mark of 16 set by Jobie Waldt in 1982. Oatts took home numerous honors for his strong play, earning ACFC Defensive Player of the Week, Don Hansen National Weekly Football Gazette Division III Quad-Defensive Player of The Week and Team of the Week honors.
