Football to Host Johns Hopkins in ECAC Southwest Championship

FROSTBURG, MD — Frostburg State University has been selected to host the Eastern College Athletic Conference Southwest Football Championship and will face Johns Hopkins University on Saturday, November 23rd at Bobcat Stadium. Kickoff is set for noon.

The Bobcats (6-4) routed No. 14 Salisbury, 37-7, in the Fourth Annual Regents Cup on Saturday to win the Atlantic Central Football Conference title. Two of FSU's losses came by three points and two more were by six points each in overtime.

"We're all very excited to be playing in the postseason," said third-year head coach Rubin Stevenson. "It's nice to be rewarded for our strength of schedule. This gives us a chance to send our seniors off in style."

Johns Hopkins (8-2), which is making its first postseason appearance in school history, earned a share of the Centennial Conference title with a 27-7 upset of No. 15 McDaniel on Saturday.

The Blue Jays, who forced seven turnovers in the contest, tied Muhlenberg for the league crown. However, Muhlenberg received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III playoffs based on its 23-10 win over Johns Hopkins.

The Bobcats will be making their sixth appearance in the ECAC Championship game and first since 1999 when they fell to Carnegie Mellon, 28-10, at Bobcat Stadium.

This will be the first-ever meeting between Frostburg State and Johns Hopkins.
