Frostburg State Basketball Players Among National Stat Leaders

FROSTBURG, Md. — The Frostburg State basketball programs have three players ranked among the leaders in the NCAA Division III national statistics.

Senior Stephanie Watts (Baltimore, Md./North County) ranks third in the nation with 4.8 steals per game and freshman Caryn Wright (Baltimore, Md./Western Tech) is among the nation’s leaders for the first time this season as she holds down the 55th position wth a 52.3 field-goal percentage.

As a team, the Bobcats rank 50th in field-goal percentage (43.0), 62nd in win-loss percentage (75.0), 76th in scoring margin at 10.5 points per game and 77th in scoring offense at 68.8 ppg.

On the men’s squad, senior Dan Ryley (Frederick, Md./St. John's Prospect Hall) is 47th among Division III players with 9.0 rebounds per game.

FSU as a team ranks 85th in free throw percentage (71.1).

Both Bobcat squads return to action Friday, February 10, when the women and men travel to Medaille at 6:00 and 8:00 pm, respectively.
