Frostburg State Splits in Moravian Invitational

BETHLEHEM, PA — The Frostburg State volleyball team split its two matches in the opening round of the Third Annual Moravian Greyhound Premiere Invitational, Friday evening.

In his debut, Head Coach Peter Letourneau guided the Bobcats to a 3-0 win over DeSales. Games scores were 30-17, 30-18 and 30-13.

In the second match of the evening, FSU lost to Swarthmore 3-0. Game scores were 30-11, 32-30, and 30-22.

Junior Amanda Frantz (Friendsville, Md./Northern Garrett (Garrett College)) led the way with a combined 22 kills and three aces while senior Carly McDonald (Owings, Md./Northern) had 16 kills and one ace. Junior setter Amanda Hernandez (Crofton, Md./Arundel) dished out 53 assists.

Frostburg State is back in action tomorrow in the Gold Bracket when it faces Penn State Altoona at 11:00 am and Moravian at 1:00 pm.
