Frostburg State to Host AMCC Women's Volleyball Tournament Semifinals and Championship

FROSTBURG, MD — The pairings are now set for the 2004 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Women’s Volleyball Tournament.

First-round action will begin Tuesday as No. 6 Medaille (12-13, 3-6 AMCC) visits No. 3 Penn State Behrend (15-14, 7-2) and No. 5 Pitt-Greensburg (4-21, 3-6) travels to No. 4 Pitt-Bradford (9-13, 6-3). Both matches will begin at 7 pm.

No. 1 Frostburg State (27-5, 9-0), which won its third straight and sixth overall AMCC regular-season title, will host the semifinals Friday, November 5 as well as the championship Saturday, November 6.

The Bobcats will face the Pitt-Bradford/Pitt-Greensburg winner in the first semifinal match Friday at 6 pm, and No. 2 Penn State Altoona (15-8, 7-1) will meet the Penn State Behrend/Medaille winner in the other semifinal at 8.

The championship match is scheduled for Saturday at 1 pm.

The tournament winner will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
