Frostburg State University Police to Host Law Enforcement Awareness Day

FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State University Police Department will host the first Annual Law Enforcement Awareness Day on Wednesday, Sept. 19, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bobcat Stadium on the FSU campus. The committee is headed by Cpl. Michael Ruppenkamp.

Representatives from the University Police, as well as a number of other state, county, municipal and federal agencies, will be on hand to provide professional demonstrations, displays, recruiting and crime prevention tips and hand-outs. Photograph and fingerprint identification for children will be provided.

A team competition featuring law enforcement related games and skill tests will take place, with each member of the winning team receiving dinner for two at a nice restaurant – in addition to bragging rights until next’s year event in 2008. Food and Pepsi products will be provided, as well as live entertainment and giveaways.

The team competition is open to everyone. Each team will have seven members. Each member must participate, with no substitutions allowed once the competition begins. There will be six competitions, and teams will earn points throughout the competition. The team with the most points will be the Law Enforcement Awareness Day Team Champion of 2007.
