Frostburg State University Police to Host Second Annual Law Enforcement Awareness Day

The Frostburg State University Police Department will host its Second Annual Law Enforcement Awareness Day on Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lower Quad on the FSU campus. The event is sponsored by the FSU Student Government Association and the committee is headed by Cpl. Michael Ruppenkamp.

Representatives from the University Police, as well as a number of other state, county, municipal and federal law enforcement agencies, will be on hand to provide professional demonstrations, displays, recruiting and crime prevention tips and hand-outs. Photograph and fingerprint identification for children will be provided.

“The purpose of Law Enforcement Awareness Day is not only to provide the public with information about law enforcement, but for everyone to have a good time as well,” Ruppenkamp said.

Law enforcement agencies attending this year’s festivities are invited to create table exhibits and demonstrations displaying information about their respective areas of specialized training. Table exhibits and demonstrations will be scored, and a donation to the FSU Law Enforcement Scholarship Fund will be awarded to this year’s winner.

If it rains, the Second Annual Law Enforcement Awareness Day will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 24. For more information about the event, contact Ruppenkamp at or by calling University Police at 301-687-4223 to sign up.

FSU is committed to making all of its programs, services and activities accessible to persons with disabilities. To request accommodations through the ADA Compliance Office, call 301-687-4102 or use a Voice Relay Operator at 1-800-735-2258.
