Frostburg State University Seeks Comments on the Quality of Programs in the College of Education

The College of Education at Frostburg State University is scheduled for an accreditation review visit by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation in April 2017. This review visit will be a National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) legacy visit. Federal regulations require that accrediting agencies allow for public comment on the qualifications of institutions or programs under consideration for initial or continuing accreditation.

Both CAEP/NCATE and Frostburg State University recognize that graduates, parents, schools and community organizations have valuable perspectives on the quality of the programs that prepare teachers and other school professionals. We invite interested parties to submit written testimonies on Frostburg State University’s College of Education to:

            Board of Examiners

            1140 19th Street NW, Suite 400

            Washington, DC 20036

            or, via e-mail to:

Comments must address substantive matters related to the quality of professional education programs offered at Frostburg State University and/or to the professional performance and characteristics of Frostburg program graduates. Testimonies and comments should specify the respondent’s relationship to the institution and/or to the College of Education (i.e. graduate, present or former faculty member, employer of graduates). Copies of all correspondence received will be sent to the College of Education for comment prior to the review visit. No anonymous testimony will be considered.

Testimonies must be received by CAEP no later than March 1, 2017.
