Frostburg State University Theatre to Present "The Women"

Frostburg State University Theatre will present the play "The Women" by Clare Booth Luce on March 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15 at 8 p.m. and on March 8 at 2 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center Drama Theatre.

A comedy classic, "The Women" premiered on Broadway in 1936, ran for two years and caused a sensation as it shattered cozy myths about matrimony. Described as "gleefully malicious," the play satirizes a group of 30s-era New York socialites, their twisted marriages and the delicious gossip that is their undoing. A large, all-female cast of characters provides some of American theatre's juiciest roles for women.

"The Women" has enjoyed successful runs and revivals on Broadway and across the country for nearly 66 years. The 2001-2002 New York production was a sell-out.

Tickets are $4 for FSU students and $10 for the general public. For reservations and information, call (301) 687-7462 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

FSU is committed to making all of its programs, services and activities accessible to persons with disabilities. You may request accommodations through the ADA Compliance Office, (301) 687-4102, TDD (301) 687-7955.
