Frostburg State University to Offer Japanese Language Courses

Two courses in Japanese will be offered during the spring 2003 semester at Frostburg State University through the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature.

Both courses are open for enrollment to members of the community.

Japanese 101 is designed for entry-level students, while Japanese 102 is open to those with previous study in Japanese. Both will be offered on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule.

The instructor is Maki Tanaka, an FSU English major from Dokkyo University who has received training from the Aoyama School for Japanese in teaching the language to non-native speakers. Her classes will also include aspects of Japanese culture, including the tea ceremony, Japanese cuisine and calligraphy.
