FSU Activities for Life Center to Offer Beginner Tumbling Classes

The Frostburg State University Activities for Life Center will offer beginner tumbling classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 2 through May 9, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Cordts Physical Education Center, room 170.

The class, which is limited to 10 students, is designed for children between the ages of 5 and 12 who have little or no formal tumbling training.

Beginner tumbling class is designed to teach flexibility, strength and muscle control and will include headstands, handstands, cartwheels, rolls, backbends and other simple movements. The most advanced stunts will include front and back walkovers, which will not be performed until the tumbler has perfected all prerequisite stunts set by the instructor.

Advanced tumbling skills such as front handsprings, back handsprings and aerials will not be taught.
