FSU Dance Concert to Feature All Original Student Work

The Frostburg State University Dance Company will present its first-ever independent student production, with three evening performances at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 and 2 in the Drama Theatre of FSU’s Performing Arts Center.

The dance concert will feature all new pieces choreographed by FSU students. Works will reflect a variety of styles, including pointe, jazz, musical theatre, modern dance and African dance. The concert was previously advertised to feature guest artists, but this new format will now be strictly a student production designed to highlight original works and the talents of FSU students.

To honor and welcome FSU’s new president, Jonathan Gibralter, and foster the continued success of dance students at FSU, the concert on Saturday, Dec. 2, will be a gala benefit performance, followed by a reception in the Performing Arts Center lobby. Partial proceeds will go toward funding dance program needs and toward Dance Aid, which donates funds to selected organizations.

To purchase tickets, call (301) 687-4145 Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. FSU is committed to making all of its programs, services and activities accessible to persons with disabilities. To request accommodations through the ADA Compliance Office, call (301) 687-4102, TDD (301) 687-7955.
