FSU Department of Music Presents Junior Recital by Flutist Ashley Burton

The Frostburg State University Department of Music will present a junior recital by flutist Ashley Burton on Monday, Oct. 29, at 3 p.m., in the Performing Arts Center’s Pealer Recital Hall. She will be accompanied on the piano by Sarah Burton and perform a duet with flutist Amy Saavedra.

Burton, a graduate of Wicomico High School in 2005, is the daughter of Alan and Sarah Burton of Salisbury, Md. She is a Music Education major with Spanish minor and is expected to graduate from FSU in the spring of 2009. She is presently a member of FSU Flute Ensemble, Sigma Alpha Lota and the Collegiate Music Educators National Conference.

Burton’s program will include “Sonata in A Major” by Mozart, “Kokopeli” by Katherine Hoover, “Duo I” by Anton Stamitz and “Fantasie” by Georges Hue. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the FSU Department of Music at 301-687-4109.
