FSU Juniors Colin Shultzaberger and Ryan Atlow to Perform Percussion Recital

Frostburg State University juniors Ryan Atlow and Colin Shultzaberger will perform a joint percussion recital at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the FSU Performing Arts Center Pealer Recital hall. The recital is free and open to the public.

The recital will include Frank Zappa’s “The Black Page,” Nozny’s “Points For Consistency,” Orflay’s “March for Timpani,” Steinquest’s “Uncommon Times,” along with Glennie’s “Little Prayer,” Payson’s “The Twittering Machine,” Munoz’ “Eruption of Sakurajima,” and former FSU faculty member Jon Bauman’s “Sonus for Timpani.”

Atlow and Shultzaberger will be accompanied by pianist Jean Wood Kobert.

A music education major, Shultzaberger hopes to teach primary music upon graduation in 2010. He has studied under FSU instructor Dr. Ronald Horner. Shultzaberger, from Thurmont, Md., is the son of Paul and Deborah Shulzaberger.

Atlow, also a music education major, hopes to receive his Doctorate in Music Performance. He hopes to compose and perform music as well. Atlow, from Waldorf, Md., is the son of Rachel and Kevin Young of Waldorf, and Mark and Ann Marie Atlow of Yorktown, Va.
