FSU Philosophical Forum to Explore "God and The Big Bang"

The Frostburg State University Department of Philosophy's Philosophical Forum will discuss "God and the Big Bang" Monday, Nov. 6, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Atkinson Room, Lane Center 201.

Presenters will be Dr. Greg Latta, Dr. Greg Klebanoff and Dr. Angelo Bucchino. Latta, an associate professor of physics, will briefly explain the experimental evidence for the Big Bang - how we know there was a Big Bang. Klebanoff, lecturer in the Department of Philosophy, will be the featured speaker. He will examine the strength of recent claims that science has shown that our universe is divinely "fine-tuned" so as to permit our existence. Buchinno, a professor of philosophy, will discuss arguments for the existence of God and suggestions for strengthening the "fine-tuning" argument.

Audience participation will be invited immediately following the presentations. The forum is free and open to the public.
