FSU Students Come Together to Clean Up Neighborhood

FSU Students Come Together to Clean Up Neighborhood
FSU Students Come Together to Clean Up Neighborhood Students of Frostburg State University answered the call to come out on Saturday, Feb. 16, and help clean up the streets of Frostburg’s University neighborhood, where, after several snow- and wind-storms this winter, the streets were becoming cluttered and trash-laden.

Even though the request was made just the day before, 33 students came together on Saturday to pick up trash from Hill Street to Beall Street and from Braddock Road to Main Street, all in about one hour. The students who came out were members of ECHOSTARS (Empowering Communities – Helping Others – Service Through Action, Resources and Sustainability), Iota Phi Theta, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Alpha Phi Omega, Delta Omicron, Phi Mu Delta and the Student Government Association.

“My personal thanks to each and every person who helped with this effort,” said FSU President Jonathan Gibralter. “It means a lot to me and to our community to demonstrate such pride in our neighborhoods.”
