FSU to Host Fifth Annual Law Enforcement Awareness Day

The Frostburg State University Police will host the fifth annual Law Enforcement Awareness Day on Wednesday, Sept. 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Lower Quad of the FSU campus, near Chesapeake Dining Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Federal, state, county and local law enforcement agencies will provide professional demonstrations, table displays, recruiting and crime prevention handouts. Identification cards and fingerprint identification for children will also be provided. McGruff the Crime Dog, crash dummies Vince and Larry, and the FSU Bobcat mascot will be on site throughout the day, as well as celebrity guests Bob E. Cat and Kitty.

The BURG Peer Education Network will provide music and entertainment, plus their famous mocktails. A member of that organization, Laura Fehle, will sing the National Anthem at the opening ceremony.

If it rains, the event will be held Wednesday, Sept. 21.

Law Enforcement Awareness Day is coordinated by University Police Cpl. Michael Ruppenkamp.
