FSU’s Activities for Life Offers Beginner’s and Basic Tumbling Classes

Activities for Life at Frostburg State University will offer a beginner’s tumbling class for children ages 3 and 4 and a basic tumbling class for children ages 5 to 8 years on Mondays, Feb. 2 through March 2, in room 106 of the Cordts Physical Education Center. The beginner’s class will be held from 5 to 5:50 p.m. and the basic class will be from 6 to 6:50 p.m.

The beginner’s class, which is for children who are ready to learn the basics of tumbling on their own, will focus on skills like stretching, forward and backward rolls, cartwheels and handstands.

The basic class will introduce handstands, backbend kick-overs, front walkovers and round-offs and will even start to work on back handsprings. New skills will be incorporated with games and activities. Participants must wear appropriate tumbling attire. No jeans or chewing gum is allowed. Long hair must be pulled back. The instructor is Holly Biggs.
