FSU’s Activities for Life Offers Beginner’s and Basic Tumbling Classes

Activities for Life at Frostburg State University will offer a beginner’s tumbling class for children ages 3 and 4 and a basic tumbling class for children ages 5 to 8 on Mondays from March 21 through April 18 in room 106 of the Cordts Physical Education Center.

The beginner’s class will be held from 5 to 5:50 p.m. and will focus on skills like stretching, forward and backward rolls, cartwheels and handstands.

The basic class, held from 6 to 6:50 p.m., will introduce handstands, backbend kick-overs, front walkovers and round-offs and will even start to work on back handsprings. New skills will be incorporated with games and activities.

Participants must wear appropriate tumbling attire – no jeans. Long hair must be pulled back. No chewing gum is allowed.

The instructors are Holly Biggs and Asia Gaffney.

The payment deadline is March 18. A minimum of five participants is needed for each class. To register your child, contact AFL coordinator Amy Nazelrod at anazelrod@frostburg.edu or 301-687-7934.
