FSU’s ‘CHILL Factors’ a Chance for Students to Assess Wellness, Win Prizes

Frostburg State University’s students are invited to take charge of their personal health and make informed decisions about wellness by participating in “The CHILL Factors” from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Feb. 25, and Thursday, Feb. 26, in the Lane University Center, Room 201. The free biomedical screenings include a lipid screening and measurements for blood pressure and BMI (body mass index).

Each participant gets a free CHILL T-shirt and breakfast, and the first 20 students to take advantage of the free biomedical screenings will get CHILL beanie caps. There will be hourly drawings for free CHILL hoodies and one grand prize iPod Shuffle will be awarded. For fasting blood screenings, students should not consume anything but water for 8 hours beforehand. “The CHILL Factors” are organized as part of “Creating Healthy, Informed Lasting Lifestyles (CHILL),” FSU’s wellness initiative that was established to promote health practices and education among college students and the local community. CHILL is funded by a $228,225 contribution from AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP.
