FSU’s CHILL Presents Scott Cole and ‘Martial Yoga Groove’

Campus, Local Community Invited to Work out With National Fitness Expert

Frostburg State University’s “Creating Healthy, Informed, Lasting Lifestyles” (CHILL) presents national mind/body fitness expert and “Chi Man” Scott Cole in “Martial Yoga Groove,” a one-hour workout/movement session that explores mixed martial arts combined with power yoga and cardio dance moves. The event will be held on March 5 and begins at 5 p.m. in the Lane University Center’s Alice R. Manicur Assembly Hall. Known for lifting spirits, inspiring minds and toning bodies, Cole returns to FSU to share 25 years of wellness with the campus community. He helped FSU officially launch CHILL in September 2008 by leading a motivational lecture and presentation and a two-mile walk across campus.

During “Martial Yoga Groove,” students, staff and community members alike will get an introduction to Tai Chi, kickboxing, karate and Taekwondo blended with cardio to jump-start their heart rates and motivate them to explore new ways to be physically fit. People of all fitness levels are welcome to attend and are encouraged to dress comfortably. The only requirement is that participants should be ready to work out with Cole and some “really great retro music.”

CHILL is a part of FSU’s commitment to promote health practices and education among college students and the local community and is funded by a $228,225 contribution from AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP.
