The William “Bronc” and Verna Miller Ternent scholarship was established as a memorial through the FSU Foundation. Verna Miller Ternent was an FSU graduate who taught for over 40 years at Allegany County schools. She was a noted member of the Lonaconing community and played piano at area churches. Her husband, William M. "Bronc," was the custodian of Central Elementary School and enjoyed outdoor activities throughout his life.

Application for the scholarship is made through the FSU Financial Aid Office, (301) 687-4301. For more information about the University, visit
