Golf Places Fifth at Mt. Aloysius Invitational

CRESSON, Pa. — Junior Sean Buenger (Westminster, Md./Westminster) shot an 82 to lead the Frostburg State golf team to a three-way tie for fifth place at the Mt. Aloysius Invitational, Tuesday.

Buenger finished in ninth and five strokes behind winner Quintin Dziabo of Penn State Altoona. Dziabo and La Roche’s Jonathon Austin (78) were the only two golfers to break 80.

As a team, PSA won the invitational with a 324 while Penn State Behrend finished runner-up with a 328. FSU, Medaille and Lake Erie all shot a 349.

Finishing second on the Bobcats was junior Joe Eaton (Baltimore, Md./Pikesville), who had an 87, and senior James Avampato (Havre De Grace, Md./Aberdeen) was third with an 88.

Freshman Ralph Baker (Prince Frederick, Md./Calvert) came in fourth after shooting 92 and junior Jon Stepanuk (Prince Frederick, Md./Calverton School) was fifth with a 97.

Frostburg State returns to action on Sunday, October 1 at the La Roche Invitational.
