Golf Places Sixth at Pitt-Bradford Invitational

BRADFORD, Pa. — The Frostburg State golf team shot a 328 to finish sixth out of 13 teams at the Pitt-Bradford Invitational this past weekend.

Junior Ian Umphrey (Huntingtown, Md./Calvert) led the Bobcats finishing in eighth place with a 76.

Making their first appearences with FSU, junior Wayne Rice (Cumberland, Md./Fort Hill) finished second on the squad with an 81 while freshman Josh Lear (Oakland, Md./Southern Garrett) was third with an 85.

Sophomore Nate Jackson (Midlothian, Md./Beall) shot an 86 and junior James Avampato (Havre De Grace, Md./Aberdeen (Lees-McRae)) had an 88.

The Bobcats return to action Thursday, September 22, at the Penn State Behrend Invitational.
