Golf Ties for Seventh at Penn State Altoona Fall Invitational

ALTOONA, PA — The Frostburg State golf team shot a 337 to tie Penn State Behrend for seventh place at the Penn State Altoona Fall Invitational Monday afternoon at Sinking Valley Country Club.

Freshman Sean Buenger (Westminster, Md./Westminster) led the Bobcats, tying for seventh with a 78.

Sophomore Ian Umphrey (Prince Frederick, Md./Calvert) tied for 11th with an 81, while fellow sophomore Joe Eaton (Baltimore, Md./Pikesville) tied for 26th with an 87.

Senior Steve McIntyre (Schellsburg, Pa./Chestnut Ridge) shot a 91 to tie for 36th, and senior Matt Dicks (Cumberland, Md./Fort Hill) posted a 94 to tie for 39th.

The four lowest scores counted towards the team total.

Host Penn State Altoona won the event with a 316, and Mount Aloysius followed with a 319. Lake Erie and Pitt-Bradford both shot 332 to tie for third, ahead of Pitt-Greensburg (333) and La Roche (336). Hilbert was ninth with a 374.
