Grove City Takes Down Men's Tennis 8-1

FROSTBURG, Md. - Senior Brad Yoder (Hyndman, Pa./Christian Liberty Academy) captured the lone win of the afternoon for Frostburg State as Grove City defeated the men’s tennis team, 8-1, Monday.

Yoder led FSU (4-3) with a 3-6, 6-4, 10-6 win in No. 6 singles over Jonathan Pombo. Sophmore Greg Shedd (Middletown, Md./Middletown) suffered a close loss in No. 1 singles falling to Peter Davis 6-3, 4-6, 10-5.

In doubles, senior Andy Chisholm (Pylesville, Md./North Harford) and junior Ryan Rice (Hampton, Va./Shape American) lost to Chris Baker and Jeremy Dwyer in No. 2, 8-5. Meanwhile, Yoder and senior Chris Schoenbauer (Riva, Md./South River) were defeated in No. 3, 8-5, by Pombo and Shaun Mills.

Frostburg State returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Pitt-Greensburg at 3:00 pm.
