Hale Named ACFC Offensive Player of the Week

DOVER, DE — Frostburg State senior running back DeNelle Hale (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar) has been named the Atlantic Central Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week in the league's weekly announcement Sunday.

Hale ran 16 times for a career-high 163 yards and scored on a personal-best 76-yard run while adding 60 yards on four punt returns in a 45-13 road loss to SUNY Brockport.

Wesley senior strong safety Mike Simpson took home ACFC Defensive Player of the Week honors after posting 13 tackles, including four for loss and one sack, in a 49-14 victory over Kean. Simpson also forced a fumble and broke up a pass.

Salisbury freshman Greg Cannon posted a team-high 17 tackles in a 22-16 loss to Greensboro to earn the ACFC Rookie of the Week award.
