Hamor Sets School Record in 1,650-Freestyle at Grove City Longnecker Invitational

FROSTBURG, MD — Frostburg State sophomore Heather Hamor (Nanjemoy, Md./Lackey) set a school record in the 1,650-yard freestyle this past weekend at the James E. Longnecker Invitational hosted by Grove City College.

Hamor finished fifth in the event with a time of 18:50.71, surpassing the former Bobcat women's mark of 19:01.58 set by Kathy Podlesny on February 21, 1988.

Hamor also placed sixth in the 50-yard freestyle (25.77) and seventh in the 500-yard freestyle (5:29.33) to help lead the Bobcat women to a seventh-place showing out of 10 teams at the Longnecker Invitational.

"We call Heather 'The Terminator,' and she has lived up to the nickname as a hard worker who shows a lot of heart," said FSU head coach Troy Strieby. "Heather did an awesome job last weekend, and I was very proud of her."
