Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Seeks FSU Students for Undergraduate Scholarship Program

Frostburg State University students currently enrolled are invited to apply to the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship Program.

The Foundation will award scholarships to students in the spring of 2003 for use during the 2003-2004 academic year. In order to be considered for an award, students must be nominated by their institution.

The award will provide funding for tuition, room and board, required fees and books for the remainder of the Jack Kent Cooke Scholar's undergraduate degree. Award amounts will vary for each recipient based on the institution he or she attends. Awards cannot exceed $30,000 annually. Scholarship monies not used during one academic year are not transferable to the succeeding academic year. Scholarships are renewable each year if the Scholar continues to excel academically and to meet the program's requirements.

To be eligible for a scholarship, a student must: 1) be enrolled at an accredited 4-year college or university located in the U.S.; 2) be a junior during the fall 2003 term and 3) have a 3.5 or higher overall G.P.A.

Interested students should contact Stephen Twing of the FSU Department of Political Science at (301) 687-3097 or visit his office in 103 Old Main as soon as possible. Final applications are due to Dr. Twing by January 10, 2003.
