Kotofski Scores School-Record Six Goals as Women's Soccer Crushes Pitt-Bradford

Bradford, PA - Senior Karen Kotofski (Glen Burnie, Md./Northeast) scored a school-record six goals as the Frostburg State women’s soccer team defeated Pitt-Bradford 11-0 Sunday afternoon.

Kotofski broke the five-year-old record previously held by Angie Weaver with five.

Senior Rebecca Rambo (Freeland, Md./Hereford) started off the scoring for the Bobcats as she netted the first two goals of the game on assists from sophomore Danielle Carter (Rockville, Md./Rockville) and Kotofski. Freshman Jen Naylor (Riva, Md./St. Mary's) then scored a goal off an assist from Kotofski.

Kotofski then scored six consecutive goals, five to end the first half. She was assisted on her goals twice by junior Beth Hlebasko (New Market, Md./Linganore) and once each by juniors Shera Rowan (Frostburg, Md./Bishop Walsh), Erin Carraghan (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville), Jodie Gittleson (Rockville, Md./Wootton) and Micaela Karinshak (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County).

Rowan then scored off an assist from Carraghan, and Carraghan scored the game’s final goal from teammate Karinshak.

Sophomore goalie Meredith Remus (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) recorded her first career win and shutout, helping the Bobcats improve to 4-1-2 overall and 1-0 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.

FSU returns to action Wednesday when it travels to Mount Aloysius at 4:00 p.m.
