Latin Jazz Artists to Present Free Lecture-Demonstration at FSU

The Frostburg State University Cultural Events Series will offer an exciting lecture-demonstration by world-famous jazz artists Hilton Ruiz and Dave Valentin on Friday, April 1, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the FSU Performing Arts Center Pealer Recital Hall.

During the afternoon program, which is free and open to the public, Ruiz and Valentin will discuss jazz, paying particular attention to the Latin jazz genre, and will treat the audience to some of their hot Latin rhythms and cheerful jazz vibrations. That evening, the Hilton Ruiz/Dave Valentin Latin Jazz Ensemble will appear as part of the CES Jazz Series at 8 p.m. in Pealer Recital Hall, delivering a sizzling combination of Latin jazz, progressive jazz and blues.
