Lentz Named ACFC Rookie of the Week

DOVER, DE — Frostburg State freshman Chris Lentz (Ashburn, Va./Broad Run) was named the Atlantic Central Football Conference Rookie of the Week after his outstanding collegiate debut this past Saturday against Apprentice.

Lentz, a 6-0, 205-pound linebacker, recorded a game-high 14 tackles, including nine solo stops, in FSU's season-opening 42-6 pounding of the Builders at Bobcat Stadium.

Wesley senior running back Fred Edwards took home the ACFC Offensive Player of the Week award after rushing for a school-record 245 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 22-20 loss to second-ranked Rowan.

Salisbury sophomore strong safety Greg Cannon was named the ACFC Defensive Player of the Week for his 10-tackle effort in the Sea Gulls' 55-18 win over William Paterson.

The Bobcats look to improve to 2-0 for the first time since 1999 when they visit regional powerhouse Montclair State on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
