Mahan Named AMCC Player of the Week

FROSTBURG, MD - Sophomore Kyle Mahan (Potomac HS/Woodbridge, Va.) was named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for his play against some difficult competition this past week.

Mahan hit .500 for the week, including reaching base all eight times in a doubleheader against La Roche, going 5-5 at the plate with two walks and was hit by a pitch in another at-bat.

Mahan was vital in the doubleheader split, scoring three of the team's five runs in the two games. He finished the week going 8-16 with two RBI, four runs scored, and three stolen bases.

In the AMCC, Mahan currently leads the rankings with 14 stolen bases, six more than Adam Best from Penn State Behrend who ranks second. He also ranks second with 28 hits, is third with a .378 batting average, and fifth in RBI with 18 and total bases with 37. Mahan is also in the top 10 with a .465 on base percentage (7th).

Mahan will led the Bobcats into the weekend as they look to improve upon their 3-3 conference record which puts them at fifth in the conference. FSU will travel to Pitt-Bradford on Saturday, April 17 for a doubleheader at 1:00 pm, then will face Mt. Aloysius on Sunday starting at noon.
