Mannon Named AMCC Baseball Athlete of the Week

ERIE, PA — Frostburg State junior catcher Jake Mannon (Southampton, N.J./Lenape) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Baseball Athlete of the Week on Monday for his solid performances in a pair of Bobcat wins over La Roche this past weekend.

Mannon helped the Bobcats to a sweep of the Redhawks, 9-8 and 7-5, by going 4-for-8 with two doubles, five runs batted in and three runs scored.

He went 1-for-4 with a three-run double in game one, and he was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored in game two.

Mannon, who has hit safely in all eight games for FSU this season, currently leads the team with a .600 batting average, 18 hits, 11 runs, four doubles and 14 RBIs.

He is well on his way to topping his 37 hits, seven doubles, 27 runs and 33 RBIs which he posted in 36 contests last season.
