FROSTBURG, Md. — Frostburg State Head Coach Chris McKnight has been appointed as a member of the NCAA Div. III Baseball Committee.

The Div. III committee develops policies and procedures governing the administration and conduct of Div. III baseball including the national championship game.

McKnight, serving on his second NCAA National Committee, is in his eighth season as head coach of FSU. He has led the Bobcats to a 178-102-1 overall record and an 85-23 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference record. Last spring, he led the team to their first ever NCAA Regional win with a 6-2 victory over World Series participant Montclair State.

McKnight also has served on various ECAC committees, including the baseball and basketball selection committees.

He recently served a four-year term from 2001-05, including chairman in 2004-05, on the NCAA Baseball Rules Committee and was one of eight voting members charged with reviewing and implementing rules for the nation's baseball programs in Divisions I, II and III.

Currently, he serves the ABCA on the Research and Clinic Committees and is the representative for the Division III Mid Atlantic Region.

McKnight is a member of the Maryland State Association of Baseball Coaches and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics while serving as FSU's liason to the National Consortium for Academics and Athletics.
