Md. Commerce Secretary Meets With Local Leaders at FSU

Higher Education-Business Partnerships Topic of Discussion

Maryland Department of Commerce Secretary R. Michael Gill met with representatives of Frostburg State University, the Small Business Development Center, the City of Frostburg, the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce and IBM Global Business Services to discuss ongoing and future partnerships between Maryland businesses and higher education in Western Maryland.

Dr. John Bowman, interim vice president for International and Government Affairs, spoke about the importance of local and regional partnerships and the many new programs offered at FSU that support the workforce needs of area businesses, including an online Master of Science in Computer Science, a doctorate in Educational Leadership, multiple degree options in the health sciences, a concentration in Hospitality Management and more.
