Men's Basketball Falls at Lake Erie

PAINESVILLE, OH — Frostburg State fell to host Lake Erie, 97-64, in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

The Bobcats (13-8, 8-6) trailed by four at the half, 37-33, before cutting the lead to one at 39-38 on a layup from junior Steve Coursey (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) with just over a minute gone in the second half.

Lake Erie (10-10, 8-5) then went on a 24-6 run over the next six minutes to take a commanding 63-44 lead with 12 minutes remaining. The Storm continued to increase their lead with an 18-8 run late in the game for a 91-58 lead.

The Storm shot 82.1% (23-28) in the second half from the field, including four three-pointers for 60 points in the half.

Senior Jamal Peterson (Mitchellville, Md./Laurel) would hit a three-pointer at the buzzer for the Bobcats to finish the scoring at 97-64.

FSU was led by Coursey who scored 14 points. Junior Dan Ryley (Frederick, Md./St. John's Prospect Hall) added 13 points and nine rebounds while classmate Marcus McIntrye (Washington, D.C./Wilson) scored 12 points and grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.

Lake Erie had four players in double figures led by Reggie Richardson with 25points.

FSU returns to action Tuesday when it hosts AMCC foe Mt. Aloysius at 8:00 p.m.
