Men's Soccer Dominates Visiting La Roche in 4-0 Win

FROSTBURG, MD — Frostburg State (5-5-2, 2-1) jumped on visiting La Roche (7-7-1, 2-3) early and never looked back as the Bobcats defeated the Redhawks, 4-0, Wednesday afternoon.

Junior Steve Brett (Fort Hill/Cumberland, Md.) started off the scoring for the Bobcats when he put in a rebound off a shot that hit the post at the seven minute mark of the first half. Fellow classmate Sean Simpson (Kennedy/Silver Spring, Md.) added a goal in the 40th minute from inside the box to give FSU a 2-0 lead at the half.

The Bobcats, who outshot their opponents 20-4, never looked troubled after halftime, allowing only one shot and no scoring chances in the second half.

Sophomore Marcus Doe (Germantown/Germantown, Md.) added a goal in the 75th minute on an assist from senior Jay Levesque (Bishop O'Connell/Falls Church, Va.). The final goal was scored with three minutes to play, when sophomore Brain Tisler (Glenelg/Glenwood, Md.) scored his first career goal on a blast from 20 yards out.

Senior Mike Pregnall (Oakton/Herndon, Va.) recorded his third shutout of the season without having to make a save on the day.

The Bobcats return to action on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. when they travel to Lake Erie College for a conference match.
