Men's Soccer Drops Season Opener to Christopher Newport

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — The Frostburg State Bobcats lost their season opener, 1-0, to Christopher Newport Friday night at Virginia Wesleyan College.

The Captains (2-0-1) scored the only goal of the game with four minutes left in the first half and then held off a Bobcat attack in the second half to secure the win.

"We had a lot of young players out there," said head coach Keith Byrnes. "We were a bit shaky at first, but once we settled down, we were able to start playing. I was happy with our work rate, but we were just a bit unlucky."

The Bobcats (0-1) return to action tomorow when they face host Virginia Wesleyan at 7:00 pm.
