Men's Soccer Earns Berth in ECAC Mid-Atlantic Tournament

FROSTBURG, MD — The Frostburg State men's soccer team has earned a berth in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Mid-Atlantic Championship and will travel to Lancaster, Pa., to face Franklin & Marshall College for a first-round contest on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.

The Bobcats, the tournament's No. 6 seed, captured their second straight Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championship with a 2-0 win over league rival Penn State Behrend on Saturday.

Frostburg State improved to 12-6-1 with the victory but fell short of earning its second consecutive at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

The Diplomats, the No. 3 seed, bring a 10-4 record into Tuesday's meeting. F&M dropped a 3-2 decision to Johns Hopkins in its regular-season finale and missed out on one of the four berths in the Centennial Conference Tournament.

Fourth-seed Moravian (12-5-2) will host No. 5 Grove City (13-6-1) in Wednesday's other first-round game.

The Frostburg State-Franklin & Marshall winner will advance to face No. 2 seed and tournament host Western Maryland in the semifinals on Saturday at 11 a.m., while the Moravian-Grove City winner will take on No. 1 Johns Hopkins on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The championship game will be Sunday at 1 p.m.
