Men's Soccer Edged by Penn State Behrend in AMCC Final

EDINBORO, PA – Frostburg State was edged 1-0 by Penn State Behrend in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Men's Soccer Championship Saturday afternoon at Edinboro University.

After a scoreless first half, PSB went ahead 1-0 in the 69th minute when senior Andy Laver found the net off a free kick.

The Lions outshot the Bobcats 5-2, while FSU held the edge in corners, 5-3.

Bobcat freshman keeper Tom Sadler (Sandy Spring Friends/Silver Spring, Md.) tallied four saves on the day.

The Lions (14-4-2) and Bobcats (10-6-2) have now won three AMCC titles each. FSU defeated PSB in 1998,2000 & 2001, while the Lions have topped the Bobcats in 1997, 1999 & 2003.

The Bobcats will now await a possible bid into the Eastern College Athletic Conference Tournament beginning November 12.
