Men's Soccer Falls to Bethany 1-0

BETHANY, W.Va. – Andrew McPherson tallied the game’s only goal as Bethany defeated the Frostburg State men’s soccer team 1-0, Wednesday evening.

McPherson gave the Bison (2-1) the lead for good when he scored on a rebound in the 22nd minute.

Frostburg State’s (1-2) best chance came 11 minutes into the second half when a senior Jeff Bisker (Fallston, Md./Fallston) header hit the post and went out of bounds for a goal kick.

Bobcat goalie Jay Herford (Crofton, Md./South River) made nine saves in his first-ever collegiate start while Bethany goalkeeper Kosta Floros earned the win after stopping five shots.

The Bobcats will return to action this Saturday when they travel to St. Mary’s at 3:00 pm.
