Men's Soccer Loses Close Fight to Penn State Altoona

ALTOONA, PA — Frostburg State lost a close fight to Penn State Altoona, 2-1, Tuesday night in the AMCC opener for both schools.

Scoring in the 21st minute for the Cougars was Andrew Nichols. Shortly thereafter, Jared Buckner found the net for goal number two.

The Bobcats looked to rally in the second half as sophomore Marcus Doe (Germantown/Germantown, Md.) scored in the 74th minute to cut PSA's lead in half.

Despite topping the Cougars in total shots, 17-9, the Bobcats couldn't find the net again in the second half to force the overtime.

The loss drops the Bobcats to 1-4-2 overall and 0-1 in the AMCC this season.

FSU returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Pitt-Bradford in an AMCC contest beginning at 1 pm.
