Men's Soccer Loses to Penn State Altoona in OT

ALTOONA, PA — Penn State Altoona scored the game-winning goal in the first overtime period to earn a 2-1 victory over Frostburg State in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference men's soccer match Tuesday evening.

The Bobcats fall to 8-5-1 overall and 4-2 in AMCC action while Penn State Altoona improves to 8-4-2 overall and 4-0-1 in the conference.

Altoona’s JC Campbell scored the game's first goal in the 57th minute off a feed from Erik Yavuz.

Bobcat freshman Kenny Dotter (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) took a feed from junior Matt Moffa (Baltimore, Md./Eastern Tech) and scored his fifth goal of the season in the 81st minute to end the scoring in regulation.

Campbell scored the game-winning goal just under seven minutes into the first overtime session to give Penn State Altoona the victory.

“We played one of the best teams we’ll face all season,” said Bobcat Head Coach Keith Byrnes. “The team never quit and I am very pleased with our performance. Moffa’s effort was phenomenal and he did whatever we asked of him.”

Frostburg State returns to action Thursday when it travels to face Division II Pitt-Johsntown at 4:00 pm.
