Men's Tennis Falls to Penn State Behrend

FROSTBURG, MD — Frostburg State lost to visiting Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference rival Penn State Behrend 6-3 in a men’s tennis match Saturday morning.

Senior Gary Lyst (Silver Spring, Md./Blair) and freshman Matt Chisholm (La Plata, Md./La Plata) began with an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles.

Penn State Behrend rebounded with 8-5 and 8-6 wins at the other two doubles matches.

Lyst improved to 7-2 in singles play this year by sweeping Miles Boyea, 6-1, 6-4, at the top singles flight, and Chisholm then defeated Todd Guarniera 6-1, 7-5, at the third spot.

FSU returns to action Tuesday when it travels to Shepherd for a non-conference match at 3:00 pm.
