Men's Tennis Loses Close Match to Seton Hill

FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State men’s tennis team lost a close match, 4-5, to NCAA Division II Seton Hill Wednesday afternoon at the Cordts Tennis Complex.

The Bobcats (1-2) won four of six singles matches but lost all three doubles matches to drop the overall match.

Senior Andy Chisholm (Pylesville, Md./North Harford) won No. 2 singles over Jasmin Sadikovic 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 while junior Matt Chisholm (La Plata, Md./La Plata) won No. 3 singles over Ian Love 7-5, 6-0.

In No. 4 singles, junior Ryan Rice (Hampton, Va./Shape American) downed Dave Cristello 6-1, 6-3 and senior Chris Schoenbauer (Riva, Md./South River) won the final singles match, No. 4, 6-3, 6-1 over Nathan Augustine.

Sophomore Greg Shedd (Middletown, Md./Middletown) dropped No. 1 singles action to Jason Pugh 3-6, 6-7 and senior Brad Yoder (Hyndman, Pa./Christian Liberty Academy) fell in No. 6 singles to Adam Kensey, 6-3, 4-6, 3-6.

M. Chisholm and Shedd lost in the top seeded doubles event, No. 1, to Sadikovic and Pugh, 8-4 while A. Chisholm and Rice fell to Love and Augustine by the same count, 8-4, in No. 2 doubles.

In No. 3 action, Schoenbauer and Yoder lost a close match to Cristello and Kensey, 8-6.

FSU travels to Waynesburg on Thursday, March 29 for a match at 3:00 pm.
