Men's Tennis Shuts Out Pitt-Greensburg, 9-0

MONROEVILLE, Pa. - The Frostburg State men’s tennis team shutout Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Pitt-Greensburg, 9-0, last Thursday.

At No. 1 singles Andy Chisholm defeated Sam Tharakan 6-1, 6-1 while Matt Chisholm beat Robert Pulcini 6-1, 6-1 in No. 2 singles. In the third spot, Greg Shedd downed Adam Dearborn 7-5, 6-1.

Chris Schoenbauer was victorious in No. 4 singles over Matt Mansilla, 6-1, 6-1. Matt Quinn beat Andy Laddusaw at No. 5 singles (6-3, 6-2) and Fabian Uribe shutout Patrick Smith 6-0 in the first game and 6-2 in the second game in No. 6 singles.

The Chisholm pair captured No.1 doubles over Pulcini and Matt Blinky, 8-0. In No. 2 doubles, Shedd and Uribe recorded a win over Mansilla and Tharakan, 8-3, while Schoenbauer and Quinn defeated Michael LaFisca and Smith in No. 3 doubles, 8-1.

FSU returns to action on March 27 when they host Penn State Altoona at 3:00 pm.
